Escape Games არის games, სადაც room-იდან, building-იდან, laboratory-იდან, island-იდან ან სხვა closed place-იდან exit-ის პოვნაა საჭირო. Player environment-ს ყურადღებით ათვალიერებს, items-ს collect, keys-ს ეძებს, codes-ს open და clues-ს ერთმანეთთან connect აკეთებს. აქ reaction speed ყველაზე important არ არის; უფრო important არის observation, logic და right moment-ზე right detail-ის გახსენება.

Long play-ისთვის multiple locations, connected puzzles, gradually opening doors და ისეთი answers უფრო interesting არის, სადაც player random clicks-ით კი არა, careful thinking-ით მიდის.
