FPS games action को first-person view से दिखाते हैं: player weapon, crosshair, सामने की space और threat को लगभग directly देखता है। ऐसे games में view, accuracy, aiming speed और map समझना important होता है। Format अलग-अलग हो सकता है: short shooting range, arena fight, mission, position defense या fast arcade round।
इस tag में classic shooter tasks, aim training, zombie modes, team gunfights, survival episodes और narrow corridors के challenges हो सकते हैं। कुछ games में main goal जितना हो सके accurate hit करना होता है, जबकि दूसरे games में position hold करना, ammo save करना, cover use करना और attack direction समय पर change करना पड़ता है। FPS में small mistake भी round result तुरंत change कर सकती है।
Choice करते समय camera, crosshair, control responsiveness और enemies कितने readable हैं, यह देखना चाहिए। अगर image overloaded हो या aiming delayed लगे, तो game जल्दी tiring हो जाता है। Short break के लिए simple shooting ranges और arena rounds अच्छे हैं। Long play के लिए missions, weapon choice, gradual difficulty और map सीखने तथा accuracy improve करने वाले modes अधिक interesting हैं।
